Hi, I'm Kieran
A professional chef, nutrition coach, amateur bodybuilder, and owner of The Shredded Kitchen.
I am UK born and live in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay and it’s an absolute privilege to live here. In short, I wanted to use the skill set I have been refining for over 15 years to help my local community have access to a healthier tomorrow.
I have been cooking professionally in fine dining most of my culinary career and want to bring that same flare to the meals we provide here with a level of excitement and supporting local produce, gone are the days of chicken and broccoli! I also compete at a national level across multiple federations in bodybuilding, so I understand firsthand what it is like to diet for most of the year. Being a nutrition coach also gives me the confidence not just to create great tasting food but also life changing habits which can impact your day-to-day quality of lifelong term!
Enough about me though, let’s talk food!
The Menu has been designed by talking to the local gym communities, full time mums and dads, busy working professionals, fellow competitors, and time poor couples. They all had the same thing in common - wanting fresh, flavoursome meals they could eat on a diet but doesn’t feel like they’re on one!
I believe the two most common factors of making poor eating choices are:
✓ TIME POOR
If you are on the move and the hanger starts to set in and you have nothing on hand to control that beast inside, then first thing I’m doing is going to closest café, sushi, turkish or gas station to get something to eat. Normally the most convenient of choices are the poorest, nutritionally speaking
✓ BOREDOM
So many times I have heard “I needed it” I’m sick of eating the same thing day in day out and people relapse. Now yes, we all need refeeds and cheat days but while we are trying to break unhealthy habits this can be challenging, so that’s why when you sign up, you receive a new dish every day with weekly menu changes.
